Mr. Jacoby has been consulting to manufacturers, distributors, railroads, container shipping lines, airlines, ports, trucking companies, small package carriers, and logistics software and service providers in over a dozen countries for 16 years. Prior to forming Boston Logistics Group, Mr. Jacoby was a Principal at Norbridge/CFGW, where he helped carriers and third party logistics companies develop marketing strategies and new products, and improve operations. He was at A.T. Kearney from 1989 to 1996 in a highly selective international rotation program designed to help the firm and its key industrial and service accounts globalize their operations. He used his fluency in French and Portuguese to manage a Benchmarking Center of Excellence while based in Paris, France, and conduct logistics, transportation, and procurement projects in Sao Paulo and Hong Kong that led to the creation of offices in those cities. He also developed and implemented strategic sourcing methods, including purchasing best practices, vendor selection, consortium buying, and outsourcing. Before joining A.T. Kearney, Mr. Jacoby analyzed mergers, acquisitions, and trade flows for container shipping lines while in the Maritime and International Trade Group at Mercer Management Consulting (TBS), and consulted for the World Bank in Tunisia. Mr. Jacoby holds an MBA from The Wharton School, a Masters in International Business from the Lauder Institute, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He teaches operations management at Boston University, and is certified in Purchasing Management (C.P.M.), Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Integrated Resource Management (CIRM) and Transportation and Logistics (CTL). He is President of the Boston Chapter of APICS and a Past President of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals' (CSCMP) New England Roundtable. He also belongs to the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).
