Richard Levasseur
Graduate of the University of Maine at Orono
with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology in 1982. In 1982 through
1984 worked for Lincoln Pulp and Paper in Lincoln, Maine as a Pulp and Paper
Engineer handling capital and maintenance repair projects. In 1984, became a
Paper Machine Area Engineer for S.D. Warren, a division of Scott Paper Co. in
Westbrook, Maine handling capital projects up to $1MM. Joined S.D. Warren
Procurement Department in 1991 as Purchasing Agent responsible for capital
procurement, contractor services and MRO. In 1997, elevated to Sr. Purchasing
Agent for S.D. Warren. In 1998, joined Philips Elmet, Lewiston, Maine, a
division of Philips Lighting, manufacturing incandescent wire filament and
refractory metal products as the Purchasing Manager in charge of raw material,
capital, MRO procurement and supervision of a Storeroom buyer. In 2004, joined
Lonza Biologics, Inc. as Sourcing Lead for all capital and contractor services
procurement while setting up spare parts for a major plant expansion. Currently,
working as the Sourcing Lead, representing Lonza as the procurement overseer in
the equipment procurement, through contracted procurement services from Parsons
Engineering for construction of a new plant in Singapore. Also, assisting with
the overseeing of procurement construction services of a 300,000 sq.ft. building
expansion at the Portsmouth, NH. facilities.
